April 2006

    EENET Asia Newsletter - Symposium Issue has just been published in English. 5,000 copies have been printed and will distributed within the next few weeks. The newsletter includes the Recommendations of the International Symposium and will be sent out to teachers, headmasters, teacher students, education officials, university lectures, NGO/DPO activists and UN agencies throughout Asia and beyond.

March 2006

    UNESCO Hanoi translated the Recommendations form the Symposium into Vietnamese. They were distributed to key government and non-government stakeholders during an adaptation workshop for Embracing Diversity - UNESCO Toolkit for Creating Inclusive, Learning-Friendly Environments.

February 2006

    The Recommendations have been distributed to donor organisations for programmes in basic education at a co-ordination workshop organised by the Directorate for Management for Kindergarten and Elementary Schools in Bali.

January 2006

    The Recommendations were distributed in ink and Braille during a one-day seminar on Inclusion and a right Based approached to education organised by the Pakistan Disabled Foundation [PDF] in Karachi.

    Indonesia - 23rd January the Rehabilitation Research Centre at the University of Sebelas Maret, Solo [UNS] held a seminar to disseminate the Recommendations from the Symposium as well as the Vision of Inclusion, Education for All and Child Friendly Schools among key stakeholders from Central- and East Java and Yogyakarta. The seminar was organised in co-operation between the University of Sebelas Maret [UNS], the Directorate of Management of Special Education, the Provincial Education Authorities of Central Java and IDP International Development Partners.

    The Recommendation both in English and Bahasa Indonesia were printed in Braille.

    Indonesia - 19th January, the Recommendations have been distributed to NGO activists, national and provincial government officials during a workshop on the Indonesian Child Help Line.

December 2005

    The Recommendations and Certificates were been send to all participants and resource persons of the Symposium.

November 2005

    Recommendations were printed in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

October 2005
