Mission and Vision
The vision of the International Symposium
is to support the development of child-friendly, democratic, transparent,
inclusive and tolerant schools and societies in Asia. Schools and societies
that embraces diversity, creativity and freedom of expression for every
child, youth and adult regardless of gender, ability, disability and cultural-,
ethnic-, religious-, social- and economic background.
The programme of all the plenary and
group sessions will be based on the:
Objectives and Expected
Outcome
- Progress of the Education for All,
Inclusion and Child Friendly School movements in Asia
- Progress of implementation of the
Bangkok,
Bandung
and Islamabad
Declarations [all related to inclusive education]
- Facilitate co-ordination of government
and non-government Education for All, Inclusion and Child Friendly School
projects, programmes and activities in Asia
- Initiate co-operation between government
and non-government education, health and social programmes
- Introduce the newest development
within the field of inclusion to key stakeholders in Asia
- Introduce innovative tertiary education
programmes related to inclusion to key stakeholders Asia
- Initiate internet discussion groups
related to inclusion in the region [build on already existing networks
linked to EENET Asia]
- Draft recommendations to governments,
tertiary education institutions, schools, international organisations,
non-government- and disabled persons organisations, religious communities
and other stakeholders
- Establish an EENET Asia Working
Group to evaluate the progress of the development towards inclusion
and the recommendations from the Symposium
